Cummings and Fintel Earn G-MAC Athlete of the Week
Indianapolis, Ind. – The Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) released their selections for Athlete of the Week on Monday, April 17 and, in track and field, Findlay's Eliot Cummings and Trista Fintel each picked up the award for their performances at the Tiffin Carnival this past weekend.
Eliot Cummings has earned Men's Field Athlete of the Week after outstanding performances in both the triple jump and long jump. Cummings won the long jump with a distance of 7.54m which is an NCAA provisional mark and the ninth-best distance in the country this season. He also won triple jump with a distance of 14.51m.
Trista Fintel has earned her fourth Women's Field Athlete of the Week of the calendar year after winning both the elite shot put and elite hammer throw last weekend. Fintel won the elite shot put with the fourth-best throw in DII this year, a toss of 15.38m. She also won the elite section of the hammer throw with a throw of 55.20m, the 14th-best throw in the country this season.
