Ray and Fintel Earn Athlete of the Week
Indianapolis, Ind. – The Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) released their selections for Athlete of the Week on Monday, April 24 and, in track and field, Findlay's Kylie Ray and Trista Fintel each picked up the award for their performances at the Jesse Owens Classic this past weekend.
Earning Women's Track Athlete of the Week, junior Kylie Ray was outstanding in the 400m hurdles. She finished runner-up in the event with a personal best time of 59.61 which is the fourth-best time in Division II this season.
Sophomore Trista Fintel has earned her fifth Women's Field Athlete of the Week award of the calendar year after posting a pair of impressive performances against top-tier competition. Fintel was runner-up in the shot put with her throw of 15.49m, a personal best and the third best throw in the country this season. She also participated in the hammer throw, taking fourth with an NCAA provisional throw of 56.94m. That throw is 10th in the country this season.
