Verhoff Breaks 200m Record on Day 2 of Outdoor National Championship

Pueblo, Colo. – On Friday, May 26, the University of Findlay men's and women's track and field teams participated on the second of three days at the NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championship which is being held in Pueblo, Colorado at the Neta & Eddie DeRose ThunderBowl.

Junior Josh Verhoff put together an outstanding performance in the men's 200m prelims where he ran in heat one of the event. He won his heat with a time of 20.41 seconds, good enough to break his own school record which he set earlier this season. That time was the second-best of the three-heat prelim, qualifying Verhoff for the 200m final which will be run tomorrow at 9:55 pm EST.

In the women's discus throw, Findlay's Trista Fintel finished in 17th as her second throw was her best and measured 42.89m (140'8").

The national championship will conclude tomorrow, Saturday, May 27th with the women's pole vault beginning at 1:00 pm.
