Findlay Earns Four More Podium Finishes on Final Day of Outdoor National Championship

Pueblo, Colo. – On Saturday, May 27, the University of Findlay men's and women's track and field teams concluded the NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championship which is being held in Pueblo, Colorado at the Neta & Eddie DeRose ThunderBowl. Findlay's women had a solid meet, finishing the event in 17th with 15 points scored while the men ended tied for 32nd with six points. 

In shot put, the Oilers picked up a pair of first team finishers as the dynamic duo of sophomore Trista Fintel and junior Paige Emnett collected all-American awards for the second consecutive outdoor season. Fintel, the indoor national champion in the event, finished fourth as her second throw sailed 15.60m (51'2.25"). Emnett worked her way onto the podium on her sixth throw, a toss that measured 15.15m (49'8.5").  

Picking up Findlay's first all-American award in the women's 400m hurdles since 2016 was sophomore Kylie Ray. Ray took part in the finals on Saturday evening and finished in seventh, clocking in a time of 59.70. She is the first to earn all-American in the event at UF since Maud Sanmiquel seven years ago. 

Senior Meadow Cromer snagged a podium finish in the women's pole vault, finishing fifth in the event. Cromer cleared a height of 4.00m (13'1.5") on her first attempt to collect all-American in the second consecutive outdoor season. Finished in a tie for 12th in the event was senior Lindsey Kluesener who cleared 3.85m (12'7.5"). 

Findlay's final event of the evening saw senior Josh Verhoff competing in the men's 200m final. Verhoff took ninth in the race, narrowly missing out on a podium finish with a time of 20.87.
