Lakers Sizzle In 88-66 Win Over Oilers

The University of Findlay women's basketball team was defeated 88-66 by Lake Superior State University on Saturday, February 26 in Croy Gymnasium. The loss gives the Oilers a 17-9 record with a 12-7 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

The Lakers shot an incredible 68.5 percent (37-of-54) from the floor and drilled 13-of-19 (68.4%) shots from behind the three point line.

The Oilers meanwhile hit 50 percent (23-of-46) of their field goal attempts and connected on 6-of-17 (35.3%) triple tries.

Sophomore forward Kayla Brown led Findlay with 21 points on 9-of-12 shooting while junior guards Laura Bardall and Clare Aubry chipped in 18 and 15 points, respectively.

The Lakers got 27 points from Nicole Marshall while Emily Joseph (16), Maria Blazajewski (14) and Sarah Cubr (11) all reached double figures in the game.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Wednesday, March 2 when they host Ashland University in the first round of the 2011 GLIAC Tournament at 8 pm in Croy Gymnasium.
