Oilers Breeze Past Storm, Win 79-48

The University of Findlay women's basketball team came away with a 79-48 win over Lake Erie College on Saturday, Jan. 19 in Painesville, Ohio.

The Oilers dominated from beginning to end as they shot 48.9 percent (23-of-47) from the floor and held the Storm to a mere 31.9 percent (15-of-47) shooting clip.  Findlay also forced 26 turnovers and registered 12 steals in the win.

Senior forwards Kayla Brown and Tai Dotson led the way as they each scored 17 points in the victory.  Brown, who moved into 17th place on Findlay's all-time scoring list during the game, hit 6-of-10 shots from the field and now has accumulated 1,041 points during her tenure with the program.

Dotson meanwhile hit 5-of-6 attempts from the field and canned 7-of-9 shot attempts from the charity stripe while also adding five boards in the game.

Junior guard Karli Beasley added ten points as 12 Findlay players scored.

Chrissy Delaney led Lake Erie with ten points.

The Oilers, who are now 12-4 on the season with a 9-3 record in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), will continue their road swing next Thursday, Jan. 24 when they face Walsh University at 8 p.m.
