Hintz, Horstman, Englebrecht Named All-Confernece

Cedarville, Ohio - The University of Findlay women's basketball team, in the midst of the third 20-win season since becoming an NCAA DII institution, placed three players on All-Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) teams on Wednesday, Feb. 28. Junior Anna Hintz secured a spot on the first team while Haley Horstman and Lynsey Englebrecht earned second team honors. The awards came following the pre-tournament banquet held on the campus of Cedarville University, the host site for this year's conference tournament.

Findlay junior Anna Hintz has had a historic season, pouring in 18.6 points per game and shooting 55% from the floor, both of which rank fourth in the league. She is the first Oilers player to average 18 or more points per game in the NCAA DII era of the program. This season, Hintz has scored 483 points and is looking to become just the fifth player in school history to reach the 500-point mark in a season. Ten games of 20 or more points and a career-high of 31 points help bolster one of the top resumes in the conference. The North Fairfield, Ohio native is also snagging 8.6 rebounds per game, the fifth-best in the league and the most rebounds per game in a season at Findlay since the 2008-09 season when Megan Sellers pulled in 9.0 reb/g. This is the first all-conference award of Hintz' career.

Senior Haley Horstman has been a staple in the Oilers' lineup for the past four seasons, playing in 108 games in her time with the Orange and Black. In 2017-18, Horstman is scoring 13.7 points per game and leads the squad with 3.4 assists per game, sixth in the league in that statistic. Findlay's guard has an assist to turnover ratio of 2.0 (89 AST/44 TO)which is good for second in the league. The New Knoxville, Ohio native is averaging 36 minutes per game, which is good for third in the league, and has played more than 3,200 minutes in her career. This is the first all-conference award of Horstman's career.

Rounding out the all-conference selections is senior Lynsey Englebrecht who saved her best season for last. This year, Englebrecht has emerged as one of the best three-point shooters in the country, making 44% of her attempts from downtown. The Findlay sharpshooter is making 3.8 threes per contest which is the best mark in the country while her 95 makes from deep, a school record, are sixth in the nation. This season, the Eastlake, Ohio native is scoring 14.7 points per game, more than five points better than last season's average, grabbing 3.2 rebounds per game, and dishing out 2.9 assists. This is the first all-conference award of Englebrecht's career.
