Oilers Smash Ohio Valley | Win 76-46

The University of Findlay women's basketball team overcame a slow start to defeat Ohio Valley University 76-46 on Feb. 23 in Vienna, W. Va. The win gives the Oilers an 18-7 record on the season with a 14-6 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).

The Oilers only led by two against the winless Fighting Scots at 32-30 when the first half buzzer sounded They then outscored Ohio Valley 44-16 in the second half to pick up the easy victory.

Findlay shot 49.1 percent (28-of-57) from the floor and connected on 10-of-25 (40%) attempts from behind the three point line. They also held a 47-23 advantage on the glass and dished out 23 assists in the win.

Senior forward Anna Hintz led the way with 19 points, nine rebounds, and four assists, while senior guard Jenna Stegmaier had 13 points, four rebounds, and four assists.

Senior guard Elissa Ellerbrock reached double figures with ten points to go along with eight rebounds and five assists while freshman forward Bridget Landin scored eight points off the bench.

Ohio Valley was led by Lindsay Bush's 14 points.

The Oilers will now return home and prepare to host Kentucky Wesleyan College at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 28.
