Series Information

Malone: The Oilers and Pioneers have met 29 times overall with the Orange and Black holding a significant 26-3 advantage in the series. The teams first met in the 1991-92 season which ended in a 66-51 win for Findlay.

Malone has not defeated Findlay since Feb. 20, 2016, a 74-70 win for the Pioneers. Since then the Oilers have rattled off five straight against Malone including an 85-79 victory a season ago.

Walsh: Walsh and Findlay have played 27 times with the Oilers clinging to a 16-11 record in those games. The first matchup came in the District 22 Playoffs in 1983-84, a 69-66 win for the Oilers.

Walsh has won three consecutive against Findlay and, dating back to 2014, have won 9 of the last 13.

Findlay

The Oilers are scheduled to play 12 games in the next month including five games over the next ten days. This stretch will undoubtedly be an important one as Findlay currently is bunched up in the middle of the G-MAC standings at 3-4 overall and are coming off a pair of losses.

In Tuesday's loss to ODU, junior Sydney Kin scored 30 points and grabbed 19 rebounds which was just the second time in Oilers history that a 30-19 game had been played. For the Oilers to get back on track, Kin, who is averaging 19.4 points and 9.9 rebounds, will be a big part of it.

Fellow post player Bridget Landin has been important for Findlay thus far, scoring 14.4 points per game and grabbing 8.0 rebounds. Junior guard Amber Schweiger has had a couple of down games by her standards, but is still averaging 11.3 points per game and will continue to be key in directing the Oilers offense, currently at 4.6 assists per game.

Sophomore Rachel Cooke is quietly having a solid year, scoring 6.4 points per game in her first year as a starter. She has also proven to be a threat from beyond the arc, making nearly two threes per game at a 44% clip.

Malone

The Pioneers are coming off of a solid season last year in which they had a 19-11 record overall and went 12-6 in G-MAC play, but through seven games this season, that has not been the case despite returning their top two scorers in Holly Groff and Robin Campbell.

Despite having a 2-5 record, Malone actually is scoring more points per game (76.3) than they allow (75.1). A big reason for that is that on New Years Eve they almost doubled up Lake Erie, winning 112-63, the highest scoring game in the G-MAC this season. In that game, six Malone players reached double figures and the team hit 17 triples while turning it over just 11 times.

On the year, senior Holly Groff is scoring 18.1 points per game which ranks fifth in the conference. She does much of her scoring from beyond the arc where more than half of her field goal attempts come from (59 of her 109 field goals are from deep). From three, Groff is shooting 34%. She is also second on the team in rebounding at 5.7 per game and leads the team with 4.4 assists per game.

Robin Campbell (11.4), Madison Hunter (10.9), and Alexis Hutchinson (10.1) are all scoring in double figures for the Pioneers, as well, and all have the ability to shoot the three if needed. Hunter is the team's top rebounder at 6.0 per game.

Walsh

The back-to-back conference champions and preseason favorites started the year 3-0, picking up wins against Ursuline, Hillsdale, and Tiffin. But since then, losses to current G-MAC leader Cedarville and last year's regular season runner-up Kentucky Wesleyan have the Cavaliers looking to right the ship. They will play Hillsdale on Friday, Dec. 8 before hosting Findlay Sunday.

The Cavs lead the G-MAC in scoring defense, allowing just 66 points per game while also leading the conference in rebounding at 42 per game.

Last season's Player of the Year Sha Carter leads Walsh again at 20.4 ppg, second in the league, while shooting 61% from the floor, third in the league.

Mayci Sales (17.2) and Megan Ball (11.0) complete a trio of players that have an inate ability to put the ball in the bucket as they all shoot better than 45% from the field.
