Kin Named USBWA National Player of the Week

Sydney Kin of the University of Findlay has been named the U.S. Basketball Writers Association Women's Division II National Player of the Week for the week ending January 10.

The junior forward was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Athlete of the Week after a trio of outstanding performances.

For the week, Kin averaged 28.7 points per game and 13.7 rebounds per game while shooting 69.2 percent from the floor (36-of-52) and 82 percent (14-of-17) at the free-throw line. Of the 41 rebounds Kin grabbed, 20 of them came on the offensive glass, which helped lead Findlay to a 2-1 record including an overtime road win over the defending G-MAC Champion Walsh Cavaliers.

The Carey, Ohio, native began the week with 30 points and 19 rebounds despite a 94-77 road loss at Ohio Dominican. Kin followed that performance up with 25 points and eight rebounds in an 80-72 win against Malone and finished the week with 31 points and 14 rebounds in the overtime win at Walsh
