Oilers Cruise to 95-61 Victory

The University of Findlay women's basketball team evened their record at 7-7 on the season with a 95-61 win over Lake Erie College on Jan. 30 in Niekamp Arena.

The Oilers shot 50.7 percent (36-of-71) from the floor and held a 45-32 advantage on the glass during the game. They also came away with 12 steals and dished out 26 assists in the win.

Junior forward Sydney Kin paced Findlay with 28 points and nine rebounds. She made 12-of-16 attempts from the field and also added two blocks, a steal, and an assist.

Junior forward Bridget Landin also had a great game, scoring 22 points to go along with nine rebounds, three assists, and a pair of steals. She also converted 10-of-12 shot attempts in the victory.

Senior guard Allison Utterback scored 17 points in the first half en route to 20 points, which equaled her career-high, while junior guard Amber Schweiger had 11 points and a career-high 13 assists.

Junior forward Paige Bellman nearly reached double figures with eight points and eight rebounds while junior guard Lilly Simon and freshman guard Kendyl Mick had three points apiece.

The Storm, who shot 38.5 percent (25-of-65) from the field, were led by Dy'Jhanik Armfield's 15 points.

The Oilers will have a day off before facing the Storm again on Feb. 1 at 5:30 p.m. in Painesville, Ohio.
