Vienna, WV – The University of Findlay women's basketball team took care of business on Thursday, Feb. 18 as they made their final trip to Vienna, West Virginia to play the Ohio Valley Fighting Scots. The Oilers put up big numbers in the first three quarters and cruised to a 95-64 win on the road to improve to 11-9 on the season and remain perfect against the Fighting Scots at 10-0. With the loss, Ohio Valley's struggles continue as they remain winless on the year at 0-15.

The Oilers started the game with a hot hand as they connected on all four of their first field goal attempts, not recording a miss until almost three full minutes into the game. In the first quarter, the Oilers shot almost 70% from the floor which included juniors Sydney Kin and Paige Bellman who combined to go 10-for-11 from the floor in the quarter for 22 points.

That dominance would continue as a 14-4 run in the beginning of the second quarter helped propel the visiting Oilers to a 60-34 lead through 20 minutes.

After outscoring the Fighting Scots 28-15 in the third quarter, the Oilers pulled back offensively, scoring just seven points in the final ten minutes while allowing 15. It was plenty of scoring to keep the lead as, despite reaching the century mark, Findlay did keep the margin at more than 30 points.

The Oilers shot 52.8% (38-of-72) from the floor despite hitting just 3-of-18 (16.7%) from beyond the three-point arc. Findlay's big advantage came in close to the basket where they outrebounded and outscored the Fighting Scots. Rebounds were weighted heavily to the Oilers, who grabbed 50 boards compared to just 24 for OVU. Points in the paint also favored the visiting team as Findlay used its size to record 70 points in the paint to just 32 for the home Scots.

Findlay saw 14 different players score in Thursday's win, a game in which 16 players saw time on the floor.

Leading the Oilers offensively was junior Sydney Kin who scored 26 points on a red hot 13-of-14 (93%) performance from the floor. Kin also grabbed seven rebounds and had a pair of blocked shots.
