Oilers Open G-MAC Play With a Victory

The University of Findlay women's basketball team improved to 2-3 on the season with a 63-48 win over Trevecca Nazarene on Dec. 2 in Nashville, Tenn. The victory also gives them a 1-0 record in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play.

The Oilers shot 48.2 percent (27-of-56) from the floor and forced 21 turnovers, coming away with 12 steals. They also limited the Trojans to a mere 30.0 percent (18-of-60) shooting clip in the win.

Senior forward Sydney Kin led a balanced offensive attack with 12 points to go along with ten rebounds while senior guard Amber Schweiger had nine points.

Senior forward Bridget Landin also had a big game for Findlay as she finished with eight points, 15 rebounds, and four assists.

Sophomore guard Lauren Hapgood, freshman guard Chloe Callahan, freshman guard Janae Hoying, and junior guard Rachel Cooke all finished with six points as well.

Bayleigh Carmichel led the Trojans with 13 points and seven rebounds.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Saturday when they face Kentucky Wesleyan College at 1pm in Owensboro, Ky.
