Panthers Defeat Oilers 71-57

The University of Findlay women's basketball team fell 71-57 against Kentucky Wesleyan College on Dec. 4 in Owensboro, Ky. The loss gives the Oilers a 2-4 record on the season with a 1-1 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).

The Panthers had a hot hand from three point range, making 15 of their 20 field goal attempts from long distance. They ended the game shooting 35.7 percent (20-of-56) from the floor while making 39.5 percent (15-of-38) of their three point tries. The Oilers meanwhile hit 38 percent (19-of-50) of their field goal attempts, but made only 3-of-15 (20%) attempts from behind the three point line.

Senior forward Sydney Kin paced the Oilers with 17 points and nine rebounds while freshman guard Janae Hoying and sophomore guard Kate Ellis had 12 points apiece.

Senior guard Amber Schweiger added seven points, three rebounds, and three assists while senior forward Paige Bellman had five points and nine boards.

The Panthers were led by Leah Richardson's 18 points.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Dec. 9 when they host Cedarville University at 5:30pm.
