Yellow Jackets Top Oilers 77-63

The University of Findlay women's basketball team lost 77-63 against Cedarville University on Dec. 9 in Niekamp Arena. The loss gives the Oilers a 2-5 record on the season with a 1-2 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).

The Oilers shot 40.7 percent (22-of-54) from the floor, but were only able to connect on 3-of-18 (16.7%) tries from behind the three point line. The Yellow Jackets meanwhile made 38.8 percent (26-of-67) of their shots and connected on 13-of-37 (35.1%) attempts from three point range.

Senior forward Sydney Kin paced the Oilers with 26 points, 16 rebounds, three steals, two blocks, and two assists while senior guard Amber Schweiger had 12 points and three rebounds.

Freshman guard Janae Hoying came off the bench to provide 12 points in 22 minutes while senior forward Bridget Landin had eight points, nine rebounds, and two steals.

The Yellow Jackets were led by Emily Chapman's 29 points, nine rebounds, four steals, and four blocks.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Saturday when they host Ohio Dominican University at 1pm.
