Findlay Falls at Home to Arrows

The University of Findlay women's basketball team fell 68-62 to Ursuline College on Jan. 2 in Niekamp Arena. The loss gives the Oilers a 5-7 record on the season with a 3-3 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) while the Arrows improve to 6-4 overall with a 3-2 mark in the league.

The Oilers, who never led in the contest, only shot 36.4 percent (20-of-55) from the floor and had 22 turnovers in the loss. They also hit only 4-of-12 (33.3%) from behind the three-point line. 

Senior forward Paige Bellman paced Findlay with 15 points and nine rebounds off the bench while senior forward Bridget Landin had 14 points and ten rebounds. 

Freshman guard Janae Hoying also reached double figures with 11 points. 

The Arrows, which have now won three straight in the series with Findlay, only played with six players due to COVID protocols and were led by Bekah Green's 16 points. Madison Cloonan also played well with ten points and 15 rebounds. 

The Oilers will be back in action again on Thursday when they travel to Canton, Ohio to face Malone University at 5:30 p.m.
