Findlay, Ohio- The University of Findlay women's basketball team improved to 6-10 on the season with a win over Kentucky Wesleyan on Jan. 20 in Croy Gymnasium. This gives them a 4-6 record in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).
The Oilers shot 46.8% (22-47) from the floor and forced 19 turnovers, coming away with ten steals. They also limited the Panthers to 39.8% (20-51) shooting in the win.
Leading the Oilers was sophomore guard Lauren Hapgood who had 13 points, shooting 4 for 5 from the three-point line. Two of Hapgood's three pointers would come in the final three minutes, helping secure the Oilers victory.
Senior Sydney Kin finished with 12 points, 11 rebounds, and two blocks. Freshman Janae Hoying contributed 11 points while senior Bridget Landin chipped in 8.
The Panthers were ranked third in the G-MAC entering the contest. They were led by Tahlia Walton with 14 points.
The Oilers will be back in action Jan. 27 at Cedarville at 5:30 pm.
