Oilers Win 3rd Straight | Beat Hillsdale 55-53

The University of Findlay women's basketball team won their third straight game with a 55-53 victory over Hillsdale College on Feb. 7 in Hillsdale, Mich. The win gives the Oilers a 9-11 record on the year with a 7-7 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).

The Oilers held a 52-50 lead with less than a minute to go in the game when sophomore guard Kate Ellis drilled a three pointer. Hillsdale came right back with a three pointer of their own, but Findlay held strong on defense in the final 30 seconds to walk out of Hillsdale with a win.

Senior forward Bridget Landin had another big game for the Oilers with 19 points and nine rebounds while Ellis finished with nine points and four rebounds.

Freshman guard Janae Hoying recorded eight points while junior guard Lauren Hapgood had seven points.

Senior forward Sydney Kin only scored five points in the contest, but had 11 rebounds and two blocks.

The Chargers were led by Grace Touchette's 20 points.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Feb. 10 when they travel to Canton, Ohio to take on Walsh University at 5:30 p.m.
