Oilers Finish 4th at Cav Classic

The University of Findlay women's golf team took fourth place at the Cavalier Classic, which wrapped up second round action on April 19 at the Glenmoor Golf Course in Canton, Ohio.

The Oilers fired a two-day score of 639 (315, 324) at the event and were led by junior Kasey Petty, who tied for third place with a 153. Petty shot a 73 in the opening round on Saturday and came back with an 80 during the final round on Sunday.

Senior Michele Schambs tied for tenth with a 156 (79, 77) while sophomore Shelby Warner tied for 17th with a 161 (78, 83).

Freshman Kelsey Koesters (85, 86 – 171), junior Hannah Schneider (92, 84 – 176) and sophomore Taylor Tweed (85, 94 – 179) also competed for Findlay at the event.

The Oilers will now prepare for the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championship on April 24-26. Findlay is hosting the event at the Findlay Country Club.
