Oilers Lead at SVSU Invitational in Lexington
Lexington, Ky. – The University of Findlay women's golf team, ranked no. 12 in the country, kicked off their spring season with a trip to Lexington, Kentucky to participate in the Saginaw Valley State Spring invitational on Saturday, March 16. Through one round, the Oilers lead the event after posting a score of 304, one shot ahead of Northwood (305) and four shots ahead of Tiffin (308).
Freshman Jill Schmitmeyer and senior Samantha Hatter each posted scores of 75 (+3) in the opening round and are currently tied for sixth overall.
Nine spots back in a tied for 15th are senior Makenzie Torres and junior Meredith Wipper who each posted a 77 (+5) in the round while sophomore Kristina Kniesly, last year's G-MAC Freshman of the Year, shot an 81.
The final round of action will be tomorrow, Sunday, March 17.
