Top-10 Individual Performances | #2 Makenzie Torres

The Oilers had another incredible year as multiple athletes and teams saw success at both the conference and national level. The UF media relations staff has put together a top-10 list of individual performances from the year and will release them throughout the summer months.

#2 | Makenzie Torres | Women's Golf

Senior women's golfer Makenzie Torres led the Oilers to their highest finish ever during her final season as the Oilers tied for fifth at the NCAA Division II National Championship. She also led the team to their first East Region title and was named a second team All-American by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA).

Torres, who was a first team all-East Region pick, earned Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Player of the Year honors for the second consecutive season and was a first team all-conference selection. Her 75.17 scoring average during the year was also the second-best in program history.

At the NCAA Division II National Championship, Torres finished tenth with a 54-hole score of 227. She finished as the runner-up at the regional with a 54-hole score of 221 and was also the runner-up at the G-MAC Championship with a 54-hole score of 229. She also won the Cav Classic with a 36-hole score of 148 and took home first place honors at the Dayton Invitational with a two-round score of 139.

Torres finished her career with a scoring average of 76.39, the lowest in school history. She was also named all-region three times and was an all-conference pick four times.
