Oilers in Third at Dayton Invitational on Day 1

Kettering, Ohio- The University of Findlay women's golf team competed in round one of the Dayton Fall Invitational on Monday, October 14. After the first round, the Oilers are in a tie for third place in a field of multiple Division I programs competing in the field. The Oilers are one of two teams in the field of 14 programs who are Division II. The team shot 305 to put them back five strokes of Butler University entering the final round.

Junior Kristina Kniesly paced the Oilers with a 75 (+5) placing her in a tie for 11th. Sophomore Jill Schmitmeyer, one shot back of Kniesly, carded a 76 (+6)  tying for 13th through one round. Senior Meredith Wipper and freshman Danbi Kim are tied for 17th after a pair of 77's from the two golfers. Rounding out the Oilers, senior Mackenzie Keenoy shot 83 (+13) to be in a tie for 2nd.

The Oilers will look to make a move up the leaderboard in the final round that is scheduled to be played Tuesday, October 15, once again at NCR North.
