Wipper Tied for Lead | Oilers in 2nd

The University of Findlay women's golf team wrapped up first round action at the Tiffin University Fall Invitational on Oct. 10 at the Mohawk Golf and Country Club in Tiffin, Ohio. The Oilers fired a 317 on the first day of competition and are in second place, four strokes off the lead, which is being held by Tiffin.

Senior Meredith Wipper led the Oilers on day one and is tied for the lead after carding a 4-over par score of 76 while juniors Jill Schmitmeyer and Danbi Kim are tied for third with a 6-over par score of 78.

Senior Kristina Kniesly (85) is tied for 20th while freshman Gabby Woods (88) is tied for 29th to round out the scoring for the Oilers "A" squad at the tournament.

The Oilers "B" team is also competing at the event and sits in fifth place with a 340. They were led by freshman Sarah Scarpill, who is tied for ninth with a 79.

Freshman Jordan Pruitt is tied for 20th with an 85 while freshman Abby Jones (88) and sophomore Lexis Fickel (88) are tied for 29th.

The final day of competition will take place tomorrow.
