Oilers in 2nd At Regional After Day 2

The University of Findlay women's golf team remains in second place at the NCAA Division II East Regional after day two of competition at the Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel, Ind. The Oilers shot a 300 on day two and have a two-day total of 599 (299, 300), ten strokes behind the University of Indianapolis.

Junior Jill Schmitmeyer continues to lead the tournament after posting a 1-over par score of 73 on Tuesday. Schmitmeyer fired an even-par round of 72 yesterday and is tied with Indianapolis' Cailyn Henderson at the top of the field with a 36-hole score of 145.

Senior Meredith Wipper is also off to a great start at the tournament and is tied for fourth with a 148 (74, 74) while junior Danbi Kim is tied for 12th with a 152 (76, 76).

Senior Kristina Kniesly is in 14th place with a 154 (77, 77) while freshman Gabby Woods is tied for 24th with a 160 (79, 81).

The tournament will conclude tomorrow with the top three teams advancing to the NCAA Division II National Championship.
