Oilers Finish Sixth at UIndy Fall Invitational
Carmel, Indiana- The University of Findlay women's golf team opened their 2021 fall campaign with a sixth-place finish at the UIndy Fall Invitational at Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel, Ind. The Oilers finished the three-round tournament on Sep. 14 with a 54-hole score of 922 (+58).
Leading the Oilers were seniors Danbi Kim and Jill Schmitmeyer. Kim ended the tournament in a tie for fourteenth place after posting a 13-over par score of 229 (78, 77, 74) while Schmitmeyer tied for eighteenth with a 14-over par score of 230 (77, 76, 77).
Freshman Mary Kelly Mulcahy tied for 22nd with a score of 232 (78, 72, 82), sophomore Gabby Woods tied for 28th with a 233 (77, 77, 79), and freshman Erin Mulcahy tied for 45th with a 242 (82, 80, 80) to round out the Oilers team score.
Individually, senior Kristina Kniesly finished in 35th with a three-round total of 236 (80, 78, 78) while junior Lexis Fickel tied for 57th with a 251 (89, 86, 76).
The Oilers will be back in action again on Sep. 25 in Big Rapids, Mich. at the Gildas Club Laker Invite.
