Oilers Finish Second at William Beall Fall Classic | Three on All-Tournament Team

Findlay, Ohio- The University of Findlay women's golf team completed the William Beall Fall Classic today, Tuesday, Oct. 6 at Findlay Country Club. The Oilers finished in second place among the field of eighteen shooting scores of 293, 301, 293 (+23). They finished two strokes behind the tournament champions, Barry University (FL).  

The Oilers were led by sophomore Gabby Woods. Woods finished in solo third at four-over par for the tournament. Her three rounds of 71, 71, 78 led her to all-tournament honors.  

Joining Woods on the all-tournament team were seniors Kristina Kniesly and Jill Schmitmeyer. The duo finished tied for fifth at seven-over par. Kniesly shot rounds of 75, 74, 74 and Schmitmeyer shot rounds of 72, 78, 73. Freshman Mary Kelly Mulcahy finished in the top ten at nine-over par with rounds of 75, 78, 72. Rounding out the Oilers was senior Danbi Kim who finished tied for 19th at thirteen-over par with rounds of 75, 80, 74.  

Also competing in the tournament was Findlay "B" team. They finished in eighth place.  

Leading the "B" team was sophomore Abby Jones. Jones shot 80, 77, 74 (+15) and finished tied for 27th. Freshman Erin Mulcahy contributed rounds of 77, 82, and 73 (+16) and finished in a tie for 31st. Junior Lexis Fickel shot 79, 81, 75 (+19) and tied for 41st. Sophomore Sarah Scarpill assisted with rounds of 78, 80, and 81 (+23) and finished in a tie for 50th. Rounding out the "B" team was sophomore Jordan Pruitt who shot 85, 77, 80 (+26) and finished in 56th place.  

The Oilers will be back in action at the LeAnn Noble Memorial in Dahlonega, Georgia on Oct. 11 and 12.
