Blacklick, Ohio- The University of Findlay women's golf team has once again found themselves atop the leaderboard. They are currently in first place at the NC4K College Classic, which wrapped up round one today on Apr. 4 at Jefferson Country Club. The Oilers shot a 13-over par score of 301 on Monday and lead the field by 12 strokes. Notably, the seventh ranked Oilers lead against their region foe and eleventh ranked University of Indianapolis.

Kniesly comes off of back-to-back wins at both the SVSU Invite and the Findlay Spring Invite. She is on the hunt to add her third spring victory and her fifth career win.

Right behind Kniesly is sophomore Gabby Woods and senior Jill Schmitmeyer. Woods is in third place after carding a two-over par round of 74. Schmitmeyer is in a tie for fourth after posting a three-over par, 75. Freshmen Erin Mulcahy and Mary Kelly Mulcahy rounded out the lineup for the Oilers. They both finished in a tie for 14th at seven-over par after shooting rounds of 79.

Competing as an individual in the event is sophomore Sarah Scarpill. Scarpill shot a three-over par 75 and is tied for fourth. She finished second in the field in birdies made with four, three of which came in a four-hole stretch.

Findlay led the field in both par four and par five scoring. They played the par fours five-over par and averaged 4.13. They played the par fives at five-over par, averaging 5.20. They also led the number of birdies made in the field with ten.

The Oilers will be back in action again tomorrow, Apr. 5 for the final 18-holes of competition. They look to win their fourth tournament this spring.
