Women's Golf in First in East Regional Rankings

Findlay, Ohio – On Friday, April 15, the NCAA released the first round of regional rankings in the sport of women's golf. The University of Findlay women's golf team, the defending NCAA Division II National Champions, find themselves at the top of the East Region. 

The Oilers are currently ranked third in the country and have just one regular-season tournament remaining before beginning their march into the postseason. 

Findlay features three of the top 34 players in the country according to golfstat.com's rankings. Sophomore Mary Kelly Mulcahly is leading the charge as the 15th ranked player in Division II and carries a scoring average of 73.54. Senior Jill Schmitmeyer is 33rd while junior Gabby Woods is 34th, although Woods' scoring average is slightly better at 74.62 compared to 74.82 for Schmitmeyer.
