Five Earn All-Conference | M.K. Mulcahy and Guarnieri Earn Major Awards

2022-23 Women's Golf All-Conference

Indianapolis, Ind.- The Great Midwest Athletic Conference released their postseason awards, today, May 5. The University of Findlay women's golf team dominated the awards as sophomore Mary Kelly Mulcahy was named the Player of the Year and Dominic Guarnieri was voted the Coach of the Year. That also includes five players who earned all-conference.

Guarnieri was selected as the top coach in the conference for the fifth straight season. He has led his squad to four titles this season. In fact, the Oilers have not finished outside of the top-three in any tournament this season. 

Sophomore Mary Kelly Mulcahy, who was the Freshman of the Year last season, was named the Player of the Year. She is averaging 73.81 on the season. She has finished in the top-ten eight times, finishing outside of the top-ten just twice. Her year was highlighted with a win at the SVSU Spring Invite. That was the third win of her young career. The Lima, Ohio native was also named all-conference.

Joining M.K. Mulcahy are senior Jill Schmitmeyer, junior Gabby Woods, sophomore Erin Mulcahy, and freshman Hayley Dye as all-conference selections. 

Senior Jill Schmitmeyer, who was the Player of the Year last season, has been averaging an impressive 74.71. She has won once, recorded two top -threes, finished in the top-five four times, and in the top-20 nine times. 

The Great Midwest Medalist, sophomore Gabby Woods, is averaging 74.45. She won the Bobby Nichols Invitational this season before winning the Great Midwest Championship. She has three top-three finishes and six top-ten finishes. 

Sophomore Erin Mulcahy 76.94. This is her second all-conference honor of her career. 

Earning her first all-conference honor is Hayley Dye. Dye is averaging 78.27 which was helped by the 68 (-4) she recorded in the Great Midwest Championship.
