The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team opened their season with a 14-6 loss to Belmont Abbey on Feb. 27 in Belmont, N.C.
The Oilers trailed 7-5 at the break, but were out-scored 7-1 in the second half. They committed 20 turnovers and trailed 23-17 in the shot department.
Junior Kyra Bradley led the team with two goals and an assist while freshman Hannah Peebles contributed two goals in the game.
Seniors Taylor Trice and Mackenzie Barnwell added one goal apiece.
Sophomore Rachel Heath was saddled with the loss after allowing 14 goals. She also made three saves in the contest.
The Oilers will now prepare for a 7pm contest against St. Thomas Aquinas tomorrow in Clermont, Fla.
