Oilers Crush Cavaliers 16-6

North Canton, OH – The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team played the Walsh University Cavaliers on Thursday, April 4 and came out with a 16-6 win over the G-MAC conference competitor. The Oilers are now 4-7 on the season with a 2-0 record in conference play.

Walsh started the game off strong by putting the first goal on the board, but the Oilers quickly fought back tied the game less than one minute into the game. Both teams then quickly scored again and the game was tied again at 2-2 with 24 minutes remaining in the half. That was the last time the Cavaliers would have the chance to take the lead. The Oilers finished out the first half ahead 6-3.

Findlay came out of halftime with intensity and went on a six goal run to give them a dominating 12-3 lead. The Cavaliers were unable to make any kind of comeback and Findlay's defense held them to only three more goals for the remainder of the game. The Oilers scored four more goals to end the game with a final score of 16-6.

Senior Brie Caruso had a great game scoring four goals and grabbing five draw controls. She also had an assist. Senior Jacelyn Litman put in three goals and dished out four assists. She also picked up three groundballs.

Junior Ciara Burud put two in the back of the net, picked up six groundballs, and had two caused turnovers. Freshmen Danielle Dilorenzo and Kendra Lindell each added two goals apiece for the Oilers.

Sophomore Allie Kasprzyk had one goal and three draw controls while sophomore Hanna Morgan also added a goal. Freshman Mackenzie Cole also added a goal for the Oilers while senior Hannah Peebles had three assists, four groundballs, and two caused turnovers.

Senior Claire Ferrell took the win in goal today with 10 saves on 16 shots and also tallied a groundball.

The Oilers will be on the road again on Saturday, April 6 playing at Ohio Valley at 2:00 PM.
