Oilers Win in OT at McKendree

The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team edged McKendree University by a score of 12-11 in overtime on March 4 in Lebanon, Ill. The victory gives the Oilers a 2-2 record on the season.

The Oilers held an 11-8 advantage midway through the second half before McKendree scored three straight goals, the last coming with only nine seconds to play in regulation, to tie the game and force overtime. Midway through the extra session, junior Allie Kasprzyk scored the golden goal to give the Oilers the victory.

Sophomore Adriana Santucci led the way with four goals and an assist. Kasprzyk, sophomore Danielle Dilorenzo, and senior Ciara Burd each scored two goals while sophomores Ashleigh Lesser and Madi DeVries each had one.

Burud picked up five ground balls while DeVries and senior Brittany Stephens each had four.

Sophomore Rachel Bornstein made 12 saves in goals to pick up the victory for Findlay.

The Oilers will be back in action again in Missouri on March 6 when they face Lindenwood University at noon.
