Cavaliers Snap Oilers Streak

The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team had their five-game winning streak snapped on April 22 in Canton, Ohio as they fell 16-11 to Walsh University. The loss gives the Oilers a 7-6 record on the season with a 6-1 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).

The Oilers trailed 11-9 early in the fourth quarter before the Cavaliers scored four straight to break the game open.

Senior Liz Zatalava recorded four goals to lead the Oilers while sophomore Paige Falk and senior Mackenzie Cole had two apiece.

Senior Allie Kasprzyk, freshman Olivia Alvarado, and junior Izzy Murphy-Morrow scored one goal apiece while junior Amber Patterson and senior Chloe Nottingham picked up three ground balls each.

Senior Rachel Bornstein took the loss after allowing 16 goals. She added 11 saves.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Sunday when they face Ashland University at 12pm in Ashland, Ohio.
