Oilers Defeat Bobcats on Home Turf

Findlay, Ohio - The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team defeated Frostburg State University by a score of 14-11 on Sunday, Mar. 11 at the Armstrong Sports Complex. This victory gives the Oilers a 1-5 record on the season.

The Oilers ended the first quarter up by one with a score of 4-3 and continued to push the lead during the second ending the half up by two. In the third quarter, both teams added three goals to their score. Chuba scored two assisted goals within one minute of play in the fourth quarter and Murphy-Morrow finished the game with a goal assisted by Shewbridge ending the game with a final score of 14-11 and putting the first win in the books for the season.

Senior Danielle Dilorenzo led the way with five goals, 11 draw controls and two caused turnovers and assists. Freshman Tessa Chuba added four goals to the Oilers win. Junior Madeline Shewbridge contributed two goals, along with one assist.

Sophomore Olivia Alvarado, senior Emma Heinrich and senior Izzy Murphy-Morrow each found the back of the net once during the win. Murphy-Morrow also had four draw controls, two assists and one ground ball during play.

Senior goalie Rachel Bornstein saved a total of eleven goals during the game, had three groundballs and caused one turnover.

The Oilers will be back in action Wednesday, Mar. 15 at 3pm at home at the Armstrong Sports Complex.
