Findlay, Ohio - The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team defeated the Tiffin University Dragons at the Armstrong Sports Complex on Sunday, Apr. 2 by a score of 21-5. With the win, the Oilers improve to 5-6 in the season and 2-0 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play while the Dragons fall to 5-6 and 1-1 in conference play. 

Tiffin scored the first goal of the game, but the Oiler's quickly recovered and ended the first quarter 5-3. At the end of the first half, Findlay had nearly tripled their goals and led by ten. The Oilers continued their stellar defense only allowing Tiffin to score once in the second half and ending the game with a final score of 21-5.  

Senior Rachel Bornstein made five saves in goal today, while senior Olivia Bakowski made one.   

Senior Danielle Dilorenzo scored eight goals for Findlay in the day's matchup, as well as adding two assists, two groundballs, five draw controls and two caused turnovers. Junior Madeline Shewbridge scored five goals and had five assists, two groundballs, and caused one turnover.  

Sophomore Olivia Alvarado had two goals and assists, and an impressive ten draw controls. Freshman Tessa Chuba recorded three goals, one assist, one groundball, a draw control and a caused turnover. Freshman Suvi Hollenbach grabbed three groundballs and caused one turnover.   

Junior Erin Kodger, senior Izzy Murphy-Morrow and senior Emma Heinrich each added a goal to Findlay's total. Murphy-Morrow also had six assists. Heinrich had five groundballs and caused one turnover. Senior Amber Patterson had five groundballs and caused two turnovers for the Oiler's and freshman Brinlee Barry caused three.   

The Oilers will be back in action Thursday, Apr. 6 when they play Ashland on the road at 4pm.
