#16 Roughnecks Go 1-1 at Ranger Duals
The University of Findlay wrestling team, ranked 16th in the nation, went 1-1 at the Ranger Duals on Saturday, January 21 in Somers, Wisconsin. The Roughnecks lost 19-13 to ninth-ranked Wisconsin-Parkside and came away with a 27-6 win over Minnesota State-Mankato.
Ben Sergent, the eighth-ranked wrestler in the 125-pound weight class, Nick Weisjahn and Mason True each tallied 2-0 records at the event to lead the team.
Sergent defeated Parkside's Jacob Papke by major decision, 11-1, and also claimed a 6-4 win over Mankato's David Demo.
Weisjahn claimed a 6-3 win over Parkside's Collin Crume and won 7-3 against Brian Reisenauer of Mankato in the 133-pound weight class.
Second-ranked Michael Lybarger went 1-1 in the 174-pound weight class with his only loss coming by and 8-6 decision against top-ranked Luke Rynish of Wisconsin-Parkside.
His 6-5 win over Mankato's Brendan Eichmann gives him 104 for his career, which ranks seventh all-time at UF.
Adam Walters, the sixth-ranked grappler in the 184-pound weight class, Jeremy Espinoza, Ashton Brown and Andrew Tumlin also finished with 1-1 records at the event.
