#16 Roughnecks Wrestle at MSU Open
The University of Findlay wrestling team, ranked 16th in the nation, competed at the Michigan State Open on Saturday, Nov. 9 in East Lansing, Mich.
Adam Walters led the way and placed fifth in the open division of the 174-pound weight class by going 6-1.
Walters lost his opening match by decision (7-2) against Purdue's Patrick Kissel and then worked his way through the consolation bracket, eventually winning 5-2 over Ohio State's Mark Martin in the fifth place match.
In the freshman/sophomore bracket, Bradley Metz finished second in the 165-pound weight class with a 4-1 record. He lost by decision, 6-2 against Eastern Michigan's Dean Vettese in the finals.
Schuyler Phillips went 2-2 in the freshman/sophomore group at 125 to earn fourth place and Nicholas Skonieczny finished with a 2-2 record in the freshman/sophomore bracket at 149 to take fourth place.
