Roughnecks Ranked 11th | Three Athletes in Top 12

Findlay, OH – On Tuesday, Feb. 21, D2Wrestle.com released their latest edition of the NCAA Division II Wrestling Coaches Association Poll. The University of Findlay Rougnecks find themselves down one spot to number 11 in the country after being ranked tenth for the last two weeks and are currently ranked second in Super Region Two.

The Roughnecks have three athletes ranked in the top 12 in the country in their respective weight classes.

Senior Nick Goebel is still in the top spot, ranked first in the country and the region at 149 pounds. The two-time all-American has gone 17-0 this season and has spent the entirety of the year as the nation's top wrestler. Since the last rankings, Goebel has had three matches, all of which have been against top-10 opponents including a 4-0 win over #2 in the country, Nick Boggs from Lake Erie.

Fellow senior Joey White is ranked seventh in the nation at 157 pounds and is the top wrestler in Super Region Two. White has gone 12-3 this season

At 174 pounds, senior Bradley Metz has moved up one spot to fourth in the nation and is ranked third in the region. Metz has had a solid year thus far, going 24-6. Since the previous rankings, Metz has gone 3-0 including a 5-4 overtime win that lasted seven periods.

The Roughnecks begin their postseason action on Feb. 24-25 when they travel to Indianapolis, Ind. for the NCAA DII Regional.
