Roughnecks Compete in Findlay Open

Findlay, Ohio- The University of Findlay wrestling team competed in the Findlay Open on Saturday, November 16.

The Roughnecks were led by Devin Rogers and Devin Trevino, who both finished the tournament with third place finishes. Rogers competed in the 149-pound weight class finishing with a 5-1 record. Trevino secured a 4-1 record in the 165-pound weight class, which included a sudden victory over Derek Gross in the 3rd place match.

James Wimer took fifth place in the 157-pound weight class with a 5-1 record scoring a pin against University of Indianapolis' Garrett Griffin.

Two sixth place finishes were secured by Nathan Vandermeer in the 174-weight class and Mark Trifelos in the 184-weight class. Vandermeer , who finished with a 4-2 record, secured a pin against Anthony Marra of Notre Dame College and a tech fall over Alec Shaw of Seton Hill. Trifelos, who went 4-2 as well, won two matches by sudden victory.

Alexander Isbrandt recorded a pin against Jacob Potok of Lake Erie College on his way to finishing in 8th place and finishing with a 4-2 record. In the 125-pound weight class, Zachary Collins went 3-2 in the tournament.

Roughnecks will be back in action again on Saturday, November 23 at Pitt-Johnstown in Johnstown, Pennslyvania.
