Roughnecks Complete Tracy Borah Duals
The University of Findlay wrestling team completed the 30th annual Tracy Borah Duals on Jan. 11 in Gunnison, Colo. The Roughnecks went 1-3 at the event, scoring a 33-18 win over 22nd-ranked Colorado Mesa. They also fell 26-21 to New Mexico Highlands, 25-15 to Cal State-Pueblo, and 39-9 to 23rd-ranked Western Colorado.
Hunter Reed paced the Roughnecks by going 3-1 at the event in the 165-pound weight class. He picked up his first win of the day by pinning New Mexico Highlands' Allen Michel in 4:33 before scoring a 10-6 decision over Cal State-Pueblo's Isaiah Diggs. He then won by forfeit against Colorado Mesa before suffering his only loss as he was pinned in 4:27 against Western Colorado's Michael Thelen.
Nathan Vandermeer posted a 2-1 record for the Roughnecks at 174. He picked up a win by injury forfeit in 1:53 against Pueblo's Brendon Kelley and scored an 11-6 victory against Western Colorado's James Laconte.
Branson Proudlock, Alex Isbrandt, and Keigan Yuhas all went 2-2 at the duals as well for Findlay.
