Timely Scoring Leads Storm Past Oilers 2-1

The University of Findlay women's soccer team was defeated 2-1 by Lake Erie by on Thursday, Oct. 4 in Painesville, Ohio.

The Oilers jumped on the board early when Eryn Weber got behind the Storm defenders to score the first goal of the contest and an assist from Megan Galloway. However, Lake Erie scored two goals in the 40th minute and 42nd minute to take the lead going into halftime.

Finday was unable to muster any more points and took the loss despite outshooting Lake Erie 17-9, with seven shots on goal in the match.

Keeper Kelsea Corns took the loss to bump her record down to 2-4-1 on the season. She recorded three saves in the contest.

The Oilers drop to 2-6-1 on the year with a 2-3-1 mark in GLAIC play. Their next match will be on Sunday, Oct. 7 when they take on Notre Dame at 2 p.m.
