Oilers Defeat Northern Michigan 3-2

The University of Findlay women's soccer team defeated Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) foe Northern Michigan University 3-2 on Sunday, October 6 at DeHaven Field.

The Wildcats jumped out to a 1-0 lead when Paula Hafner scored at the 9 minute mark.  Her goal was assisted by Taylor Smith. 

The Oilers tied it up when junior Eryn Weber scored at the 31 minute mark.  Her goal was assisted by junior Samantha Edwards

The Wildcats regained the lead when Taylor Smith scored unassisted at the 54 minute mark. 

The Oilers quickly battled back and tied it up when sophomore Kendall Kwiatkowski scored unassisted at the 56 minute mark. 

The Oilers took the lead in dramatic fashion when Eryn Weber scored on a foul shot at the 82 minute mark.  It was her second goal of the contest. 

The Oilers had the edge offensively with a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks. 

Findlay goalkeeper Kelsea Corns picked up the win and had four saves in the process. 

The Oilers, who improve to 6-3-1 on the year, will face Wright State University on the road on Wednesday, October 9 at 7 p.m.
