Findlay-OH-The University of Findlay women's soccer team defeated the Indiana Wesleyan University Wildcats 2-0 on Thursday, September 8 at Dehaven Field. This win gives the Oilers their first win of the season with a 1-2 record.
In the first half, the Oilers and the Wildcats fought in the midfield attaining three shots next to the Wildcat's four shots.
Throughout the second half, the Oilers dominated the Wildcats. In the 49th minute, sophomore Marissa Swindell slotted the ball in the right corner of the net with an assist from sophomore Mickayla White.
In the 76th minute, the Oilers capitalized again with a goal from freshman Sierra Peacock with an assist from senior Kate Prewitt.
Senior Kate Prewitt lead the defense in shutting out the Wildcats from inside the box.
Junior goalkeeper Sarah Baer had her first shut out of the season with 2 saves to give the Oilers a 2-0 win over the Wildcats.
The women's soccer team will take the pitch again on Saturday, September 10 at 12pm at DeHaven Field.
