Painesville, OH- The University of Findlay women's soccer team defeated the Lake Erie College Storm 2-1 on Sunday, October 23. This win gives the Oilers a 5-10-1 overall record and a 3-6-1 record in the GLIAC.
In the first half, the Storm scored a goal in the 24th minute from 15 yards out to take the lead 1-0.
At the end of the first half, the Oilers attained five shots to Lake Erie's two shots.
In the second half, sophomore Marissa Swindell tied the game up from eight yards out to make the game 1-1.
In the 69th minute, sophomore Marissa Swindell capitalized again from a deflection off of the post to put the Oilers in the lead 2-1.
At the end of the game, the Oilers had sixteen shots to Lake Erie's eight shots.
Junior goalkeeper Bre Parish had four saves to Lake Erie's six saves to lead to the Oiler's win.
Women's soccer will take the field again on Friday, October 28 for the last conference game of the year against Ohio Dominican University at Armstrong Sports Complex at 3:00pm.
