#21 Oilers Defeat Pioneers, 4-1

Canton, Ohio- The University of Findlay women's soccer team, ranked 21st in the nation, went up against Malone University on Thursday, October 31. The Oilers remained undefeated on the season after defeating the Pioneers 4-1 in a Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) contest. With the victory, the Oilers improve to 12-0-1 (10-0-1) on the season.

The Oilers were able to convert on multiple chances to score goals especially in the first half when three different players scored. The first goal came midway through the first half in the 29th minute off senior Sierra Peacock's foot. In the 34th minute, freshman Jayla Campbell scored for the fourth consecutive game. This goal came off an assist by sophomore Sydney Demyan. The Oilers were able to get another goal, this time from senior Ashley Rings in the 37th minute pushing the Oilers' lead to 3-0 before half.

Within 15 seconds of the third goal by the Oilers, Malone scored their first goal of the game when Madelline Ault snuck one past the Oilers defense to the back of the net. The Oilers went into half with a 3-1 advantage.

Out of halftime, the Oilers looked to keep the pressure on the Pioneers. In the 58th minute, the lead extended to 4-1 when junior Paige Casto scored off yet another assist by Sydney Demyan.

Goalkeeper Anna Money recorded a game-high eight saves on the evening and gave up her first goal of the season. As a defense, the Oilers have continued to be in the running for the nation's best defense team as they currently sit in second for best save percentage and fifth in the nation for shutout percentage.

The Oilers are scheduled to play on the road again on Saturday, November 2 against G-MAC competitor, Walsh University. The game is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start.
