Oilers Advance to Championship With 2-1 Win

The University of Findlay women's soccer team defeated Walsh University by a score of 2-1 on April 30 during the semifinals of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Tournament in Columbus, Ohio. The Oilers, who are now 9-1-1 on the year, will play for the league championship on Sunday at 2:45 p.m.

Walsh jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the 30th minute before junior Sami Hild tied the game off of an assist from sophomore Madison Mlsna 11 minutes later. The game would remain tied until the 73rd minute when Mlnsa found sophomore Addie Graham for a goal to propel the Oilers into the championship game.

The Cavaliers outshot the Oilers 9-7, but the Oilers had the advantage in corner kicks at 6-1.

Freshman Kelti Wise picked up the win in goal for Findlay after allowing zero goals to go along with four saves in 59 minutes of action. Freshman Kennedy Slovak started the game and made one save and allowed one goal.
