Flurry of Goals Pushes Oilers Past Pioneers

The University of Findlay Women's Soccer team defeated the Malone Pioneers at home at Armstrong Sports Complex by a score of 3-1 on Oct. 7. The Oilers now carry a record of 7-1-1 overall and 6-0-1 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.

The Pioneers started the game off with a quick unassisted goal in the 3rd minute by Madeleine Ault. After that it was all Oilers as they scored three goals in an eight minute span.

The first goal for the Oilers was scored by senior Olivia Frank in the 23rd minute with an assist from sophomore Madeline Nartker. Frank then scored her second goal of the game unassisted exactly a minute after her first. The third goal for the Oilers came when sophomore Anna Meixner found the back of the net during the 31st minute of the contest.

Oilers goalkeeper, freshman Maria White, totaled 3 saves in the win.

Findlay will be back in action on Oct. 9 at home when they take on the Walsh University Cavaliers. This game will also be the Oilers senior night where they will celebrate the careers of their senior players.
