G-MAC Leaders End in Draw | Oilers Tie Eagles

Ashland, Ohio- The University of Findlay women's soccer team took on Ashland University today Saturday Oct. 23 at Ferguson Field. The tie comes after double overtime. The match was a battle for the sole possession of first place in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC). This brings the Oilers to a 10-1-3 record on the year and 9-0-3 in conference play.  

The Oilers were led by sophomore Kennedy Slovak in goal. Slovak recorded nine saves on the night including four crucial saves in the overtime period. This is Slovak's tenth career shutout.  

On the offensive side, the Oilers had eight shots while only two were on goal. The first shot on goal came from sophomore Anna Meixner in the 9th minute of regulation. The second shot on goal came from senior Nikki Schuster in the 86th minute of regulation.  

The Oilers will continue to share the top spot in the G-MAC with the Eagles. 

Findlay will be back in action Thursday, Oct. 28 against Ohio Dominican University in Panther Stadium at 5pm.
