Oilers Win in Double Overtime to Remain on Top of G-MAC

The University of Findlay Women's soccer team defeated Ohio Dominican University on Oct 28 by a score of 3-2 in double overtime. The Oilers improve their record to 11-1-3 overall and 10-0-3 in conference play and are still sitting on top of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.

The Panthers started the game off with a goal by Katlyn Jamiel off of an assist by Callan Myers in the 23rd minute of the game. Both goalies kept the score there for the remainder of the half.

Sophomore Ellie Tischler tied the game up in the 67th minute off an assist from junior Sam Francis. ODU answered fast with a goal from Callan Myers assisted by Bailey Sedlak in the 72nd minute of play. Not to be outdone, Ellie Tischler scored another goal unassisted a mere 9 seconds later in the game.

Through the rest of regulation and the first overtime period both goalies kept the score right there until freshman Carley Wagasky scored off of an assist from Sam Francis one minute into the second overtime period to send the Oilers home winners.

Findlay goalkeeper, sophomore Kennedy Slovak, recorded 3 saves in the Oilers win.

The Oilers will be back in action Oct 30 as they travel down the road to take on the Tiffin Dragons at noon for their final regular season game of the year.
