Canton, Ohio- The University of Findlay women's soccer team traveled to Canton, OH to take on the Malone University Pioneers for their first Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) contest of the year on Thursday, Sept 8.
The first 43 minutes of play saw little action as Malone did not record a single shot. The Oilers recorded five shots but none of them found the back of the net.
It was in the 44th minute of play senior Elizabeth Talabac put the Oilers up 1-0 with her first goal of the season.
Freshman Audrey Gibson-Zweifel started in goal for the Oilers and had a perfect night, recording the second shutout of her career.
With the win Findlay advances to 2-1-1 on the year and 1-0 in G-MAC play. The Oilers will be back on the pitch on Saturday, Sept. 10 when they travel to Ashland, Ohio to take on the Ashland University Eagles.
